Kindergrow Programming

Our unique Kindergrow program has been specially designed for the older four year old or young five year old who is academically and emotionally ready for a more challenging environment than nursery school, yet is not quite ready for the demands of kindergarten.

Teacher to child ratio is typically 1-10.  Total enrollment may go to a maximum of 15.  In that case, a teacher assistant will be added, making the ratio 2-15.

The curriculum for this class will focus on four key content areas:

I. Pre-reading skill development
II. Math readiness (Everyday Math)
III. Social and emotional development
IV. Fine and gross motor skill development

Skill Development Focus areas:

- Recognition and printing of first name
- Recognition and printing of upper and lower case letters
- Recognition of some simple sight words
- Recognizing that stories have a beginning, middle, and an end
- Sound – letter correspondence
- Matching words that rhyme
- Recognition and printing of numerals up to 10
- One to one correspondence when counting objects
- Adding with manipulative objects
- Sorting and classifying
- Rote counting up to 100
- Recognition of shapes
- Recognizing and completing patterns
- Learning to follow directions

Hours:

8:45- 1:00 (pack a lunch) 5 days a week

Extended Day:

Children enrolled in Kindergrow may also enroll in the afternoon Extended Day Program until 3:00. Kindergrow children will join preschoolers in this less-structured afternoon program. The cost is $500 per year ($50 per monthly installment for each afternoon added.
