Communications Ministry
Fred Koberna, Vestry Liaison
communications@trinitysolebury.org
"The Communications Ministry has been blessed with the tasks of capturing and preserving our past, helping us to understand where we are now while assisting in the creation and sharing of Trinity's vision for the future. As a new ministry, we are inviting people to share in its creation."
Vision
• The Communications Ministry serves to build, strengthen, promote, and preserve the Trinity brand.
• This Ministry's function as "Brand Central" is to ensure that
every component from each ministry maintains a cohesive message visually
and verbally that is reflective of the brand's essence.
• The value of viewing the various ministries and their objectives from
a different perspective makes the Communications Ministry a key component in the strategic development process.
• Paramount to the development of a successful strategy is the fact that members of the Communications team are not influenced by the
internal workings of another ministry during the creative process.
• The Communications Ministry will always be mindful that we are doing God's work and seek to be guided by His will.
John 4:34: Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work."
Tidings Newsletter
Trinity Tidings is a monthly newsletter sometimes referred to as
"The Tidings." It is an important means of communication within
the parish, providing information on events and activities. It

from the staff, Vestry, and the parish at large. Please go to the Tidings and Publications section
of the website to view/download the pdf. versions of current and past Trinity Tidings

The communications committee focus is really all advertising needs for the staff or lay ministry leaders. We hope that this ministry will support the entire church in communicating our mission to each other but, more importantly to the outside world as we seek to bring Christ's vision to the wider community. Bring any questions regarding such matters to any one of the communications committee and they can help each ministry create press releases, posters, postcards, bulletin inserts, e-blasts or flyers for any event that the individual ministries require.

Goverance Ministry
David Rees, Vestry Liaison
The Strategic Planning Ministry works to understand
and discern the various issues impacting near and long range needs to
effectively fulfill the Mission of Trinity. The team engages in gathering
and assessing data to understand the trends they imply. Seeking to understand
trends leads to identifying potential solutions, options for growing in an
efficient manner, and the resources necessary for implementation.
The 2005 Strategic Planning Report identifies issues for focusing planning.
They are:
• Growth dynamics within the parish and local community
• Space needs
• Missions and ministries
• Staffing
• Buildings and grounds
• Communications
• Finance
Anyone wishing to read the full report, can get a copy from the Rectory Office.
Soon the website will also have a link to a pdf. of the report (found in Tidings
and Publications) for those that wish to read it online or download it.
The Strategic Planning Ministry will work to outline specific initiatives for a Strategic Plan designed to guide us in efficiently
fulfilling our Mission Statement. Each Vestry Ministry has selected a representative
to work with the Strategic Planning team, providing insight and expansion of their vision.
The resulting Strategic Plan will focus on three or four significant issues to give direction
for implementing spiritual, programmatic, and capital needs for the next five years.

All young people grades 6 through 12 are invited to become part of TYG.
Newcomers are always welcome, and our youth are urged to "Bring a Friend."
Parents and other adults are encouraged to become involved in this rewarding ministry.
Tinity Youth Group Nights are every Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Family Dinner Night
is on the second Wednesday of each month. Each family is asked to pick a Wednesday,
and they are to provide dinner for the youth and families. A team of three families
conducts this bountiful event. These Wednesday evening youth nights offer a great
way for members, from several school systems to connect mid-week.
Activities include two annual weekend retreats, swim parties, ski trips, and
many other fun events! Trinity Youth also lend a helping hand to people in need
through several different outreach programs.
Mission Philadelphia is a culmination of TYG's annual outreach. This occurs as a
weeklong project in June. The youth reside in Philadelphia and spend a week
partnering with residents in challenged communities on a wide range of projects.
10th Annual Mission Philadelphia - June 22-29 2008
Spiritual Development Each Wednesday evening includes a time for group
prayer and smaller group reflection, allowing our young people to explore
their relationships with God in an open and non-threatening environment.
On the third Sunday of each month, a service of Holy Eucharist takes place
at 9:15 a.m. in the Chapel. The worship is completely planned and led by our
young people. These and other opportunities for worship, Christian music, weekend retreats, and
conversations about their walk with Christ allow for their experience of
God to find expression and support within the community of faith.
Service Trinity's young people have relationships with institutions
locally and internationally. Help could be at a homeless shelter, the
Food Pantry in Lambertville, a dental clinic and school in Kenya, or
building a memorial garden in West Philadelphia. Our young people are
exposed to a broad spectrum of outreach. They are invited to respond
and experience the benefits of a caring and committed Christian life.
Lobsterfest Our annual Lobsterfest has grown into a community
event drawing nearly 1,000 people to Trinity's campus. This dinner of
fresh Maine lobsters, corn, clam chowder, and coleslaw is a true festival
and celebration of our young people with the addition of live bands, fun
activities for young children and silent auction items that fill tents full.
The funds raised at this activity help to offset the cost of our outreach project,
Mission Philadelphia.
Trinity Youth Group Online You can keep up with all Trinity Youth Group activities at
our website www.trinitysolebury.org/tyg
Trinity Youth Group Band Trinity Youth Band provides music at almost all TYG events.
They also lead the Trinity community in music on Youth Eucharist Sundays and
