2024 Pledge Campaign

Answering a New Call

Our Rector’s dismissal on any Sunday is “our worship service here is over, and now your service begins“. service: a powerful concept and force when focused on the calls in our Baptismal covenant. Will you love your neighbor as yourself? Will you love every human being and respect their dignity? Hence, our theme this year is “Answering a New Call“

As we enter the Stewardship season, we need to challenge that it is a “seasonal” event, but rather a daily, yearly, lifetime commitment to give of our time, our talent, and our treasure. To that end our focus this year is on “the big three” or “T3” for shorthand: looking at Time, Talent, Treasure and getting an individual accounting of all three. Living into our baptismal covenant suggests we have gifts in all three, all be it in different amounts. Our tradition ask you to allocate some of each to the work and support of the Church.

To support our common work, please make a monetary pledge below, and also please share where you spend time in service and the talents you bring to that work. Much of our time and talent may be outside the “Trinity walls” and unknown to your fellow Trinity members. We will aggregate your answer and share them, and I can promise that you will be both amazed and challenged by what we will learn about each other as a congregation and the collective impact we have and the opportunities to grow and learn from each other.

The week after Thanksgiving you will getting a call from a fellow member asking you to participate in this year’s pledging. Understanding that a monetary pledge allows us to budget effectively and plan thoughtfully, our goal is to hear from you by January 15, 2024.

Rob, the Vestry and Captains have made our 2024 commitment. We also ask that you participate in the time and talent gathering. I would note that experience in this space is also worth sharing, as experience shared is a wonderful gift to others.

Together we grow, we belong, and we serve. Each in our own way, but one as the body of Christ.

Have you considered giving appreciated stock to Trinity Church? It's a great way to fulfill a pledge, particularly if the stock has been held in excess of a year.

Why give appreciated stock? If the stock is sold by the donor/member, a likely capital gains tax will be incurred. On the other hand, if the stock is donated to Trinity Church, the member might not only fulfill their pledge, but get a double tax benefit as well. One tax benefit is the charitable contribution deduction, another tax benefit is the elimination of the capital gains tax because the stock (not cash!) is given to Trinity Church.

Note: This is a commitment, not a contract. If circumstances require changing the pledged amount up or down, please notify the church office at 215-297-5135.
