Trinity Spring Cleanup
(yes, technically it's still spring)
It’s time to de-clutter, purge and organize our shared spaces! Saturday June 14th, the Vestry will be hosting a Spring Clean-up Day. We will be starting at 9am and welcome any volunteers for as much or little time as you can spare. There will be targeted projects and general cleaning needs. A dumpster will be onsite, and we are excited to fill it up!!!
Help us help you! If you lead, or are an active participant in, a ministry at Trinity and have storage needs… or sorting and purging needs… please be in touch with Kevin or Lorri. We can coordinate volunteers to help you. We can also ensure active materials are not thrown out by accident.
We look forward to a great Saturday of fellowship and organizing our shared spaces!

Pentecost
Fire in our Soul
This Sunday is Pentecost, one of the three high feasts of the church, along with Christmas and Easter. Pentecost is the celebration of the event depicted in the book of Acts (2:1-12) when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples of Christ and empowered them to continue Jesus’ ministry in the world. This shifts Jesus’ ministry from a singular effort to a global movement, and is considered by many as the start of the Church.
The name Pentecost comes from the event taking place fifty days after Easter, and since Easter is a moveable feast day, Pentecost also moves in conjunction from one Sunday to another Sunday each year. This Sunday also begins the broader liturgical season of Pentecost, which will last throughout the summer and fall until the first Sunday of Advent.
This longest of liturgical seasons focuses on the mission of the Church, and the readings will often have a more instructional quality to them. We will also take a long trip through the history of the kings of Israel in the passages from the Hebrew Bible.
We often observe Pentecost by wearing red to church, and you’ll see red stoles and altar hangings that day. This is to remind us that the Holy Spirit burns in each one of us, blessing us with our gifts to build up the church, change the world, and spread the Gospel of Jesus’ love.

Big Changes on the Horizon for June
Because of new laws passed by Philadelphia City Council, it will no longer be possible for us to distribute food and help on the street without having a physical footprint in Philadelphia. As a result, in July, we will begin working with an organization called the Sunshine House located on Kensington Avenue. We are looking forward to discovering new opportunities in our ministry in Kensington and are excited about updating you after our July collaboration.
The dates for the July sandwich making will be Friday, July 18 at 2 p.m. in the Trinity Kitchen. In August, we will be assembling lunches on THURSDAY, August 14th at 2 p.m.
Financial donations can be made to the church, either by check or online at trinitysolebury.org/donate Please put Kensington in the memo line.

Baby It's Warm Inside
and we aim to keep it that way next winter!
Since October, the property committee has been diligently working step by step to eliminate the multiple "no-heat" situations we had this past heating season. It's been a long process, first trying to exhaust any possibilities of fixes and updates to our existing system. But the strange reality is that today there are very few mechanical contractors that understand industrial oil burners like ours. And the few that are left had no definite ideas about what to fix. There were many possibilities of both problems and remedies, but in the end, no one could say definitively "this" or "that" is the fix that will guarantee the 100% uptime that we should have with two boilers.
As a result, we started exploring moving to propane. Because of the cleanliness of propane, it's flexibility and it's plentiful supply, trained propane technicians are abundant. Propane requires no pumps (since it works under it's own pressure), no fuel return lines, has no possiblity of ground contamination (if there was a spill, it would simply evaporate into the air), and has no problems with water condensation getting into the fuel tank.
Keeping in mind that our building and it's systems are now 25 years old, we have gotten a reasonable length of service from our existing oil burners. The boilers themselves will not be changed, but will be thoroughly cleaned.
We have interviewed at least 5 providers for the propane conversion, and we are close to making our final selection before making a recommendation to the vestry for final approval to move forward. Over the summer you may see activity as the new propane tanks are installed, and as the old oil tank is de-commissioned. We plan to have the new system in place by September 1st.
If you have any questions, anyone on the property committee will be happy to answer them.

Ashby Carmichael Saunders
February 6, 1932 - May 26, 2025
Memorial Service June 21st 1:00 p.m.
On May 26, our beloved Ashby Saunders died peacefully in his sleep.
We probably mostly associate Ashby the marvelous sculptures he created while he was largely blind, or with his welcoming personality that immediately warmed your heart. But the story behind his sculptures was the most amazing part.
Ashby began his professional career in advertising as a copywriter before transitioning to a life-long career in real estate in Bucks County. He retired from real estate only when vision impairment from Retinitis Pigmentosa, a condition diagnosed during his teenage years, made it impossible for him to continue working. It was then that his career as a sculptor matured, something that had it's seeds in playing with clay as a child to stay quiet in church. Read more...

Centering Prayer has been an active ministry at Trinity since the late 1990's. We practice Centering Prayer in the Chapel weekly on Tuesday mornings from 8 to 8:30 a.m. and all are welcome. Come whenever you can. Read more... |
Trinity's outreach efforts seek to demonstrate care for all people throughout God's world, utilizing our principal parish resources: time, talent, and treasure. Everyone is encouraged to participate in its activities.
We are all called to Christ's ministry of offering God's love to each other - both by asking for love and support during times of adversity, and by offering our gifts to nurture those in their time of need, we together heal and become whole in Christ.
The 'Trinity Cares' team is a group of volunteers that coordinates and facilitates congregational needs in collaboration with Trinity's clergy.
As a people of God, Trinity offers prayers for those of the church, the community, and the world who are in need.
There are many ways that Trinity offers prayerful support. One way is through a prayer list that is shared with a small number of parishioners that intentionally pray for those in need.
Peacemeals were instituted at Trinity in the early 90's especially for those in our community with HIV. Back then, HIV was a very scary thing, and those with HIV were often ostracized. Many of our guests were in need of comfort, support and a good time. Flash forward 30 years and the needs have changed.
Peacemeal now focuses on those who might be experiencing a sense of isolation: the elderly, homeless adults and youths, or anyone who would benefit from sharing a meal with others in a safe and non-judgmental space. And you don't have to be experiencing problems to to join in the festivities. All are welcome!
Trinity and our sister church St. Phillips New Hope on the first Sunday of the month. We provide not only a meal but also loving, non-judgmental fellowship.
2024 Dates: June 29th - July 3rd
Each year Trinity Solebury youth and young adults have worked in Philadelphia’s high need areas to help improve the quality of life for local residents. For the past 27 years, Trinity Solebury has worked side by side with residents to revitalize their neighborhoods by transforming abandoned lots into green spaces and community gardens that inspire and promote positive human interaction. Mission Philadelphia forges relationships with these neighborhoods, working together to break down racial and demographic barriers.
This year, Trinity Solebury is pleased to be joined by youth and adults from St. David’s Radnor.

Community Partnerships
Community Partnerships
Community defines the welcoming nature of christianity. As Jesus said, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them".
Hospitality, welcoming, community: come see how we gather together.
The world’s great music speaks to us through dedicated musicians who, through their tireless performances, reach the depth of our souls. This brochure is your invitation to experience this great music by world class musicians at Trinity, which has become the “happening place” in Bucks County as a musical performance venue. For complete information about our upcoming concerts, please click here.
Cookie Bake has been a tradition of Trinity Episcopal Church for over fifty years. This event has been featured in SAVEUR Magazine and has developed quite a reputation in the community.
Our annual Lobsterfest has grown into a community event drawing nearly 1,000 people to Trinity's campus. This dinner of fresh Maine lobsters, corn, clam chowder, and coleslaw is a true festival and celebration of our young people with the addition of live bands, fun activities for young children, and silent auction items that fill tents full. The funds raised at this activity help to offset the cost of our outreach project, Mission Philadelphia.
Trinity's cemetery is a lovely country burial ground, tastefully planted yet attractive in its simplicity. Trinity Church owns, cares for and manages the four acre site. This is a non-commercial cemetery and is open to church members and their extended families - all faiths welcome. Please contact the church office for more information at 215-297-5135.
Whether you are a member of Trinity Episcopal Church or are considering rental for your ceremony, we want to help make this day special, memorable and joyful. Planning a wedding is a lot of work but committing the rest of your life to your betrothed also requires planning, counseling and preparation for one of the most important covenants of your life. The members and staff of Trinity Church welcome you and will work with you to make your special day one that you will always remember. Please contact the church office for more information at 215-297-5135.
Alcoholics Anonymous® (AA) is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.

Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous;
it is good for the just to sing praises.
Sing to him a new song. Psalm 33
The musical world has been greatly affected by COVID-19, especially the act of singing. Recent guidelines have recommended singers be distanced by at least 27 feet. Therefore this makes congregational singing and choirs virtually impossible. Singing has been such a vital part of our worship lives as we lift our voices singing praises. For the time being, we have assembled small groups in the church to record anthems and hymns for use in our services. With new technology, we produced our first Virtual Choir recording for the 20th anniversary celebration of the re-dedication of Trinity Church in October. We will continue to use music in our worship in a safe and responsible way. The day will come when all can lift their voices in song to worship the Almighty and it will be a glorious day.
Concert Series: The world’s great music speaks to us through dedicated musicians who, through their tireless performances, reach the depth of our souls. We invite you to experience world class musicians at Trinity: the “happening place” in Bucks County for classical musical performance.

Support Trinity Church Friends of Music
The mission of Trinity Church’s Friends of Music is to help provide worthy musical events to Trinity Church and the community. Ticket sales cover only a part of the cost of our concert series. If you are interested in becoming a Trinity Friend of Music, please contact Timothy Harrell, organist/choirmaster at 215-297-5135.
Senior Choir is open to all parish members and interested community singers without audition. The choir of 30 singers is made up totally of volunteers, though quite a number of its members have had extensive training as choral singers and participate in multiple choral groups in the area. The choir sings a variety of musical styles ranging from medieval chant to 21st century anthems and spirituals. They also perform portions of G. F. Handel’s Messiah yearly with professional soloists and orchestra.
Chamber Choir is an auditioned group that specializes in a cappella anthems and motets.
Saint Cecilia Choir is for children in grades K-8. This choir is an excellent way for children to learn the fundamentals of reading music and to develop their singing voices. In addition to learning anthems especially suited for younger voices, considerable time is spent learning how to navigate our way through the rich treasure that is our hymnal.
The pipe organ is one of the foundations of our Episcopal services. From prelude to postlude, the pipe organ leads the liturgy. Martin Pasi of Pasi Organ Builders designed and built the Opus 17 especially for the Trinity space. Everything from casting the pipes to building the casework to carving the bone for the keys, was custom manufactured in Mr. Pasi's shop.
Our mission is to help youth and their families grow spiritually. We offer the opportunity to have a transforming encounter with Jesus Christ so that they can grow in their relationship with Him and share Jesus’ love in their everyday lives. This is done through weekly Church School programming and a call to mission and service through ministry such as non-perishable food drives, participation in the Love Quilt Project (lovequiltproject.org), and various local and regional outreach efforts.
The sacred trust of providing for the religious education and spiritual nurture of children is a cornerstone of Trinity. Our message shares the story of faith and the presence of God's love in our lives. Through special events, opportunities are provided for our children to live out a service of love. The story of our faith, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and our love of neighbors are all connected in powerful ways and experienced by Trinity's young people.
Safe play is offered in the nursery for our youngest children and Church School for grades PreK-8th at 9:30 AM until the Passing of the Peace at which time children join their families in the sanctuary.
Trinity Day School was established in 1959. It exists to create a learning environment based on Christian values, celebrating the uniqueness of each child, and as a daily outreach of the church.
